It's a good thing that GA/BC is a fairly lighthearted comic because the
decision to include good ol' Plastic Man as part of the story makes it
hard to take things at all seriously. Admittedly, Plastic Man brings a
fun Golden Age kitsch to the table, but he's almost distracting at
times, as he feels somewhat dated. Latest issues is the beginning of a
new arc, but continues with Arrow and Canary's search for Connor
Hawke's body and clues to the circumstances surrounding his abduction.
And for the most part, the material delivers, especially when in the
fight sequence between Dodger and Speedy and the "League of Assasins,"
who seem to have a hand in all this. Winick's writing is sparse but
effective and the art (while not exactly Cliff Chang) is
straightforward and strong. Finale offers up the appearance of Batman
himself, so it'll be nice to see how things develop on that front.
Worth reading despite Plaz's presence.

I actually really enjoyed Plastic Man in this issue. He had some funny lines and I think he brings a freshness to this book. And I agree: With Batman in the picture, things should definitely get interesting.
