Okay,
So I have been fortunate enough to only hear about the terrible things that have been happening to good old Oliver from thankfully, the ifanboys. So reading this story, I have been unaffected by the JT Krul madness and have been able to look at this story for what it is without any previous sequences of a viagra needing Speedy.
So pushing all that aside, I really enjoyed this issue. I found that while this strange forest that has magically come up was first annoying to me, there seems to be something more going on with it. And while I thought I hated Ollie Robin Hood, I find I actually enjoy his in your face attitude towards the corrupt society. This new world Krul created is perfectly suited for Ollie's cynical attitude and his tough love heart.
From an art's perspective, I was completely floored by Neves's art and Cifuentes's pencils. The book looked great with some great action sequences and some very violent pictures. (There is no comics code authority label on this book for sure.)
On a side note, I believe the Green Lantern film is getting closer as this is the second image I see with a protruding Green Lantern symbol on Hal's suit.
In the end this issue hooked me enough to stay on for his arc.
I'm looking forward to the depowered Hal and newly attitude driven Ollie adventure next issue
