The Reverse Flash is an interesting villain with a confusing but intriguing backstory. His complex relationship with Barry Allen of hero worship, bitter scorn, and dependence is one that warrants exploring. That’s why Geoff Johns did it in the Flash a few months back.

Scott Kolins writes and draws a Professor Zoom story that adds nothing to the character and even less to the Flashpoint storyline he is so tied to. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a bad story, it’s just one we’ve heard before. The art is strong, although some of the faces look weird, but overall it seems more a story for people who don’t know about the Reverse Flash than the longtime fans. Maybe i’m just the wrong audience for this one, I don’t know, but it just didn’t seem that good.

Story: 2 - Average
Art: 4 - Very Good

  1. Okay, good.  Now I don’t feel so bad about my LCS screwing up my order (again) and not having a copy of this one for me.

  2. Yeah man. it’s the same old “Barry ruined my life, now I’ll ruin his!” song and dance.

  3. I don’t know, for me it clarified his story, hadn’t seen those scenes before in a comic book before, so was well worth the read to me.

  4. Not only is it the same story we’ve read before, I’m pretty sure it’s the exact same story we read very recently, I believe in one of the final issues of the Flash book. I felt like my time was wasted here.

  5. I was really expecting them to add something diifferent to Reverse Flash.  At least that is the reason I picked this up, (well, that and Grodd from last week).  The review nailed the issue right on the head, ‘it’s not a bad story, just one that we have heard before.’
