Explain to me what took so long to get this issue out?

Aside from the delay, this was a good issue and a nice cap to the return of Barry Allen. There is a resolution to the whole Anti-Speed Force problem, Barry has accepted his return, and the great Geoff Johns set up for future storylines had me shaking my head yes for a new Flash series.

This should have been more grand than it was, but you can thank constant and unecessary delays for killing the moment of the fastest man alive.

  1. One theory, Ethan Van Scriver slacked off.

  2. Actually, EVS said in his latest Wordballoon interview that the delays were caused by some problems he’s been having with his health ove rthe last few months.

Of course, I would still be surprised if this doesn’t end up sucking quite a bit, if the rest of Rebirth is any indication.

  3. It was semi-bad and semi-good. But if you’re like me and tend to be drawn to the potential in things, you like this quite a bit.

  4. The last page is kind of Ironic.

  5. @hobley

I understand and agree with what you mean, about it being an ironic last page.  But, when it comes to the Flash, I have only read this mini, and the last page seems perfectly in character with Barry.  I don’t actually see the last page as ironic, but the entire character of Barry Allen as ironic, as in the "fastest man alive" always being late.  But, that is just me.  Then again, that may be ridiculously obvious to everyone.

I wish I were the fastest man alive, so when I was late, it would just be ironic, instead of just annoying and irresponsible.

And, this is the first time I have posted on this site.  I have been coming here for months, reading articles and such, and maybe it is because I have had a few too many tonight, but I just felt like having my "lurker" status revoked.  For some reason, I feel like becoming one of the immensely opinionated, whiny iFanbase.  I can’t believe I have waited this long to post, since those two staples of being an internet forum contributor are my defaults for real life.

  6. I really didn’t want to get into WHY the book was late. For me, a late title is really unprofessional, but we do all have to know that sometimes writers and artists have health and family problems. Sometimes illness or tradgedy or just bad timing will sneak up on you when you least expect it. I really was bothered by how late this book was. Then again, when you hear someone dealing with health issues, you do want to make sure they’re well, not just for comics, but for the sake of another human being.

Don’t get me wrong. I LOVE to complain about late/delayed books because it’s really annoying, especially in a serial medium. However, at least we got the book.

  7. EV said that he health problems , that I don’t have a problem with but why was Green Lantern late as well ? I don’t remember it beings this late but I do remember it shipping late several times .
