First off I want to say I love this cover. It was a great twist on a classic image. It also is indicative of how, though it may take a long time for it to get here, the art is worth the wait.

Now on to the writing. I love Geoff Johns. I love how he can make different books have their own unique feel. Green Lantern feels like a bad ass where a bar fight could break out at any moment. Adventure is all about uncertainty with the future. Flash is just about speed.

This book read incredibly quickly and was just as quickly gone from my mind. I read it yesterday and am trying to think of stuff that happened with out running back to the issue for things. I liked how Zoom uses his time travel for evil. I don't like how he was the cause of every misfortune in Barry's life. Seriously? He broke his arm when he was a kid? Why not kill him? Did you take his homework that day of the science fair? Maybe took his underwear and rubbed mud in it so it looked like he shat himself the first time he got laid? Killing his mom was an awesome bit of villainy. Breaking his arm as a kid was petty.

Okay other stuff that happened. New costumes. Great, whatever. Don't really care. Though I honestly would have loved to see the Alternate reality Walter (or was it Wallace) West costume from Waid's run for Wally, the one with the giant silver bolt coming over the shoulder, just so it would be easier to distinguish the characters.

Iris is Impulse. Okay good. I loved Kingdom Come and even Waid's Kingdom one shots later, so having her start on the road to being a Kid Flash is okay in my book. Though please don't use her in stories too much. Maybe a one off with Damien and Chris Kent where they start a shitty version of Young Justice, but that's about it.

The only other thing is there are way too many speed characters. I like how developed they are and I think they all have a unique voice, but stuff like Liberty belle being a speedster again takes something away from her developmentally for me. I liked her as a power house and in the JSA. Ah well, it's a minor thing, and I am glad to have Max back
