  1. it’s nice to see a dissenting opinion amidst all the predictable gushing. how on earth you can threaten to drop a seven part story four issues in is beyond me though.

  2. It’s not fanfic if you’re being paid to write the characters in an official capacity.  It is, by definition, fiction.  Nice try, though.

  3. I see your points and acknowledge that they are accurate.  Final Crisis is a hard sell to casual DC folks.  The good news is that this isn’t necessary reading to appreciate the DCU at the moment.  Personally, I had fun, even though I scratched my head a bit.

  4. Fiction can read like "glorified fanfic."  I made no inaccurate statement.  I’m just not as willing to give a free pass to everything Morrison does like some.  Nice try, though.

  5. @Face

If I quite after the next issue I can save myself $12 bucks which I can use to buy a trade or 3 drinks at Starbucks.  While I’m not giving Morrison a pass, I am cutting him some slack;  something in me believes it’ll come together by next issue.

  6. I’m sorry but your statement is innaccurate.  Being paid by DC means your story is not fan fiction.

  7. I’ll make a quick edit to clarify!

  8. I’m just making a comparison.  If I were to say that Moon Knight #4 is ‘dog shit,’ I’m not saying that it is literally dog shit.  While FC may not technically be ‘fanfic’, it certainly feels like it.  Bless you if this is your thing, but this just wasn’t for me, unfortunately.  I’ve certainly been willing to give it a chance!

  9. @Face– I dropped Secret Invasion after 4.  If someone doesn’t enjoy the story, they shouldn’t shell out 4 bucks to a month to continue it. I liked it, but if he doesn’t, he has no real reason to keep buying.

  10. @Conor: Begine semantics boy!

    😉

  11. uhm, I meant begOne. 😛 I kid I kid.
