Brubaker’s plotting lends itself to trade reading, but skipping the monthly and waiting for the trades means missing out on the brilliant back up essays (which you must read, I insist) so there is a dilemma here. If you liked (or loved like me) Brubaker and Phillips other series, then obviously you are going to buy this book and enjoy it. If you don’t know anything about Brubaker and Phillips’ other hour books then I would deplore you to give this book a try. Yes, it will be a bit confusing at first, but pick it up and sit on it. I promise when you have a complete arc this story will move and impress you, because that is what Brubaker does best.
