As I write this review I am watching the last episode of Battlestar Galatica. This issue reads like one of those final season (in general type) episodes.

The good news is this isn’t the final issue of the Fantastic 4 but – and forgive my dourness – its possible we’ll see the FF get cancelled unceremoniously in our lifetimes.

I hope I’m wrong. I hope Marvel turns the Future Foundation into a Nick Jr. cartoon. And that Hickman, Epting, Kitson, and the rest (sorry rest) get touted as the ones who saved the FAntastic Four, brought them to relevance and a new generation of readers, watchers, media consumers.

This isn’t a review this is a gushing. I am so pleased with this issue. So impressed with Hickman’s care and attention to detail. So in awe of Ron Garney and the artist he’s become in the last (dude!) 20 years.

You must read the entire Hickman run to appreciate this but if you are a lapsed FF reader from back when I think you’ll still get something out of it.

Now whee did Kara Thrace go?

Story: 5 - Excellent
