I haven't dug the Millar/Hitch run on the Fantastic Four. I just never felt like they fit right on this title. When I think Fantastic Four I think fun science adventure and this seemed to be all Doom and gloom (pun intended). One of the main problems I had with this arc was the tie-in to Millar's work on Oldman Logan and 1985. The end of this crossover idea didn't pay off. I did enjoy the Thing's wedding plot in this issue and thought it was done well. I would have like to see ol' blue eyes get hitched but knew after Millar blew the ending away in a previous comic that it wasn't going to happen. This is alright though because I think that it gives Hickman more freedom when he starts his run on the book. Immonen's art is pretty good and he does a great job trying to match Hitch's style. IThis arc didn't live up to the hype and kind of fell through the cracks with everything going on in Marvel. I still can't wait for the new Creative team to take over this book and see what they have in store for the Fantastic Four.

I’ve really liked this, but I can see your point about the Doom and gloom, as there does seem to be sort of an apocolyptic feel to Millar’s take on the FF and Reed’s supergenius, as well as his more realistic, and therefore scary-we-live-on-the-edge-of-catastrophe-every-second take on what it would be like to live in the FF’s world. But I always thought his sweet take on Ben and the kids rounded that out, as well as his respect for Sue and Reed’s marriage.
good point!
