I don’t know if this was supposed to be an homage to Steven King or Hot Fuzz or some other medium of fiction, but I found the whole “sacrifice a child for a peaceful community” plot to be a little overdone. When I saw this building up in the last issue, I groaned a little. Not that there’s anything wrong with Millar stepping back from his common world ending super-plots and doing something more FF-ordinary, but I found it a little too anti-climatic. The art was Hitch-strong, but since I’ve been collecting Hitch for so long, nothing in this issue blew me away.
