I had such high expectations for this book, being that it is the first major crossover to feature all ten incarnations of the Doctor. Unfortunately, this book was not good in the slightest, which really doesn’t surprise me as the regular IDW Dr. Who comic is a sully against the series and a poorly written, dumbed-down version of the show’s harsh themes and underlying honesty and passion.

And the art…don’t get me started on the terrible artwork. It’s bugged me throughout that IDW seem to be assigning this series to mentally damaged artists who don’t know how to draw the characters properly.

I’m going to buy the whole of this mini, only because I’ve invested in it already and hopefully it will surprise me before the end (and it’s Dr. frickin’ Who…there are not comics with him in the UK, and he’s our character).

If you want a decent Dr. Who comic, people, pick up Grant Morrison’s Doctor Who, which started this week. It’s drawn by Bryan Hitch and is beautiful. This, however, is not.

  1. You need to be more constructive with your creatiques and not personally insulting to people, especially not highly respeted creators like Pia Guerra.

  2. My insult is more directed at Nick Roche who drew the covers for this and the interiors for the regular Dr. Who series…Pia Guerra’s art (while not to my taste) is substantially better than Roche it just…bugs me, and I don’t know why. Has Guerra done anything really good that I could pick up that might sway me (because I am soooo easily swayed)?

  4. Oh my god… 😐 Now I feel like a complete idiot…

  5. Does he really need a comic book?

How can someone portray an episode where the doctor is going out of a phone booth, talks to some girl and goes to the supermarket and then goes outside a few meters and chases people in cheap cat costumes on grassy hills?

Does The Mighty Boosh needs a comic book?

By the way, what actually happened in the comic book? Was it just a collection of untold adventures of previous doctors?
