I found this issue wholly unsatisfying. That may be beyond it’s control to some extend since I read it after Blackest Night, which was an incredible feat of comic storytelling. But I think this issues was trying TOO hard. The juxtaposition of the Batman and Batwoman stories grew tedious as the book went on, with the pages mirroring one another at almost every turn. Perhaps it would have worked better in moderation, but I felt bombarded by the concept, and it grew tiresome.

That’s not to say the story was bad; on the contrary it was an acceptable conclusion to this story line, and the reveal on the last page seems interesting. The art, on the other hand, left me wanting more. Specifically backgrounds. Too many panels lacked any kind of background, other than red for Batwoman and blue for Batman! On the whole, an adequate issue, but not up to the Rucka-Williams III level I have come to expect.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 3 - Good
