Art can make and break the comic books.  Everybody already knows about that.  There is another element that is also very important though.  They are called words, and this issue was very short on those.

Although I like JH William's work on this title somewhat more, I don't have anything against this guy Jock and his recent interiors.  It's not that I had any trouble with making out what was going on in this issue whatsoever.  Would it have killed Rucka to add a bit more narrative though?  Maybe I would have enjoyed this issue more if I got some sort of sense of how scared the people of Gotham are of this Cutter character.  Maybe a little bit of information on his wrap sheet and what sets him apart from the usual Gotham rogue?  You know?  Maybe a little something called characterization?  Is Batwoman is a good mood or a bad mood?  Does she feel as if this case will be wrapped up fast or is she in for the ride of her life?  Did the knife go so far down into Batman's neckplate that he'll be out of commission for the next couple nights or did the kevlar take most of the damage?  You know what I mean?

I guess what I'm trying to say is, "when I spend four dollars for a comic book and it takes less then two minutes to read the entire thing, did I really get my money's worth?"  In this case, I would have to answer with a very stern, "NO, I did not."

Still just barely getting through the second feature.  Rucka seems like he actually put more word boxes into the second feature then the main Batwoman story here.  The character of The Question just doesn't interest me so much.  It never has and feels like it never will.  I think adding Huntress into these stories is what keeps them somewhat, if just barely, a little bit more interesting.  If there was any justice in the world, it would be The Huntress Second Feature with appearances by The Question instead of vice versa...
