The trick to having multiple Deadpool titles, in order to ramp up his popularity before his new movie, is to get writers who get the Joe Casey/Daniel Way humor part of Deadpool, and let them run with great stories.  In that respect, this is a half failure.  A funny concept, and some brilliant covers.  Unfortunately, Victor Gischler writes a pale imitation of the Deadpool insanity.  Yea, there’s breaking of the fourth wall, and yea, there’s some serious multiple personality disorder stuff going on, but it’s…it’s forced.  It’s not funny.  It’s just sort of…humorous.  Not in the polite ha-ha way but in the insincere smile and head nod way.

I started skimming a few pages in, and I didn’t laugh at the joke in the final panel of the story.  Mainly because it wasn’t funny.

Bong Dazo’s cartoony Deadpool art seems wasted here.  I hope he gets put on another Deadpool title that merits his pencils.
