  1. He’s better than Joe Kelley?

  2. TNC – You know that I am a big fan of your reviews, but I have to disagree with you on this one. I found this to be a distinct drop-off from the prior arc. The art was solid, but it was not outstanding. I was impressed by the way the two pencillers were able to mimic each other’s style (I am assuming that they drew separate panels), but something seemed to be missing.

More importantly, the plot of this issue was a little too meandering. Most importantly, the humor that was evident in the first few pages of the book seemed to wash out as the action progressed. What Way seems to do best is keep Deadpool fun and crazy. His Deadpool has an insatiable need to serve as both commedian and audience, as his inner dialogue keeps him going in unpleasant and untenable situations. I didn’t see that here.

My guess is that this was really a set-up for the next two issues, and that those issues will be better. This one, however, was more of a bunt single than a base-clearing triple.

  3. Well I can understand that this was a bit more slow paced and not as hugely funny as the first arc. But this was still loads of fun to read and I think Way proved he can write a series without an event helping him.

I would say my only criticism of the book is the plastic explosive chair Deadpool had. Every page I was hoping to see it explode but it never did….Guess Way didnt want to take the obvious route with every joke.

  4. @TNC – I have to say that the non-exploding explosive chair was actually, when I look back on it, the funniest thing in the book. (This isn’t sayin anything else wasn’t funny, its just perfect to have a chair that explodes and a character that regens and nothing happens.) The book was great. The only criticism I had was that I’m not sure of the other dialogue/monologue boxes that are in Deadpool’s head. Are they based on other character’s (i.e. Cable’s) thoughts or something? Can anyone shed light on this for me?

  5. @Kreider: He just has multiple personalities really. I mean it’s not like someone got sucked into his brain or some sci-fi B.S. He’s just crazy as Starman is in JSA.
