Last issue hit a bit of a snag with the series. For the first time it really felt like Daniel Way had to cram a lot of story into a small arc. I mean the first arc of ‘I’m Your Man’ was very strong with the prospect of Deadpool joining the Secret Avengers. But with the reveal last issue (as epic as it was) was hampered with quick storybeats and a confusing ending. Now we’re on the finale of ‘I’m Your Man’ and even if it is a strong ending in general, it still shows some cracks with the series.

Right off the bat you have Deadpool teaming up with Steve Rogers (with Black Widow/Moon Knight on the side). Which is always a good thing and it definitely helps that fantastic joke at the end of this issue. The issue is a bit by the numbers though and there isn’t much jokes to be had here (again other then that great ending). Just the standard payback for Deadpool and I was a bit crestfallen on what happened to Dr. Bong in this issue. Let’s hope we see more of him in the future.

Carlos Barberi is still doing great work with the series do. Whether it’s handling dozens of Deadpool clones or great explosion effects; he is still consistantly getting better with each issue of this series. He’s done such a great job that I really think he is a step above Paco Medina right now as series artist. Then again Medina hasn’t doing this series in a looong time. So maybe it’s just me thinking of the good old days with the series.

I don’t think this was a bad issue but definitely not the best issue I’ll remember. There are some good jokes, here or there; and the art was pretty good. But in the end, I’m starting to get a little bit bored of the series….or maybe Daniel Way is too. I just hope the next issue gets the ball rolling again.

Story: 3 - Good
Art: 4 - Very Good
