After last month’s amazing look at Deadpool’s past, Daniel Way is back providing the laughs with this issue. Although we’re back to the status quo, with Deadpool lazily trying to become a hero, it doesn’t mean it’s a bad issue. This still provides a plenty good amount of humor and action you would see in any issue of this series.

Way is always good at doing a recurring joke in every issue. Whether it be something completely stupid or…..well mostly stupid; he is good at pacing jokes. I loved the recurring joke about the store owner and how Deadpool just calls on how stereotypical (and racist too) this is. But the play between Deadpool and the mercs are also pretty good as well. When we get our special guest stars, it is nice to see more of Wilson showing more of his past. I never knew he was such a big fan of Cap; but then again who isn’t in the Marvel U? Although why the other Secret Avengers had to show up I have no idea. They seems to just be filler then anything else.

Barberi is on a pretty good high right now on this title. His work is always good, but lately it has been better then usual. He’s able to handle the pacing by Way extremely well and again the jokes are played even better thanks to that pacing. He also adds little touches to his work like great facial expressions or a good take of the insane violence. Although to be honest the blood looks more like bottles of ketchup is just spread all over their masks….But maybe that is also part of the joke.

A good start to another solid arc for this series. Way continues to bring in the funny and action within every issue of this. Carlos Barberi is doing some of his best work right now and he’s more then taken over for Paco Medina at this point. Considering the preview for next month’s issue, I think the arc is only going to get better from here.
