I want a buddy comic with Bullseye and Deadpool.

After reading this issue I feel that Daniel Way can write a perfectly good Deadpool and Bullseye. I forgot how much chemistry these guys had together and this entire arc has been nothing but fun. Does the final issue of this arc bring on more fun, or is it buddy comic of mine a fevered dream?

Story wise this was a good issue by all accounts but to me that’s all it was. It’s not average by any means, nor is it terrible; but it’s not perfect or a soild four either. With all the meat shield going on and the horrible injuries these guys have been giving each other, this sorta ended on a wimper. The action was a bit lacking and the end result of this battle was a left curve as well. Interacting with each other though, Way writes these two really well. Whether it be Bullseye dreaming of a childhood memory with Wilson, or just laughing with each other over what transpired; it’s really funny.

(Insert praise of Paco Medina here and a 5/5 rating)

This has definitely been one of the strongest arcs of the new Deadpool series. Hey it’s been a year since it started so this is going on strong for at least a couple of more years. (Definitely with Ryan Reynolds film coming out in 2011) As a finale to the arc this was a bit of a spark and not the fireworks I was expecting. But the interactions with each other was funny and the last page is really something I didn’t see coming. Good issue overall, but not the best.

Story: 3 - Good
Art: 5 - Excellent

  1. Do you think we’ll get a realistic looking Deadpool comic with Deadpool looking like Ryan Reynolds when he’s without a mask?

  2. @chlop: There has to be jokes in the future with the film coming up. Maybe not now, but when we get closer to the release I’m sure Way (or whoever runs this comic. 2 years is a long time for writers) will think of something to link the film up
