Hmm let’s see what we have here in this issue:

Bullseye talking to a self-help radio host, Deadpool imagining the same man in his head, the biggest butcher in the world, Deadpool/Bullseye remembering their school years, and finally….I am the meat!

What a fun issue, this really was a great read this week. Surprisingly this is only my 3rd time picking Deadpool as the best of the week. Thought it would be more, but if anything it truely deserves a spot as the best of the best. Daniel Way just can write a funny comic like no one’s business. Now I know humor is all subjective and sometimes it may not be funny for others. But it’s hard for me to think no one can laugh at half of the jokes presented here. From Deadpool walking like a mental patient to Bullseye using a huge fucking saw; it’s just funny to look at and read. Also what was great about this comic was the narration boxes. They finally have some purpose then just humorous ‘friends’. We know that the yellow boxes are just there to vaguely give him advice while the white boxes are there to actually use his weapons and tactics. Considering he has an arrow in his head the whole issue, he needs to think of things fast while he heals. So there can be more to this comic then just slapstick humor.

I have been praising Medina for almost a full year now, and it’s hard to think of new things. So lets leave it at this: His style is just perfect for this type of comic and I wouldnt want another artist coming in and taking away my enjoyment of the book.

Daniel Way might not be the most perfect writer out there, I have read his other work. But when the gears start working in his head, he can write some of the funniest material for a comic. But he can also surprise you and think of clever ideas for an issue, like he did with the narration this time around. We’re almost to the 1st year anniversary and this comic is not slowing down. You know it’s gonna be an even crazier anniversary if Bullseye is involved.

‘Fly you beautiful bird, FLY!

Comments

  1. Daniel Way truly suffers when he tries to write drama, as he always makes his serious stories boring as shit. Thank god he cuts loose here.

  2. LOVE THIS BOOK.
