Having read most of the reviews of this series on this site, I have to say people are WAY TO FOCUSED ON THE ENDINGS. It’s just the narrative’s convention, get over it. Talk about something else for a change.

I thought this issue was good, better than last, but no where near as good as 1, 2 or 3. Still good though. Some of the narration is a bit hokey:

“Parting was never sad.” “It was just another stage in this wonderful game called life”

*barf*

It does have some really valid slice of life stuff, and good commentary on what this guy’s experiences have been, who he is, and why he became the way he Is when we see him as an older dude. It is the setting, though, that make this one of my favorite books of the last few years. It gives a really, really great look into what life is like in Sao Paolo. What the culture is like. In this issue we see the family, childhood and get away: muddy roads, kissing cousins, and all the nuances of a Brazilian’s life. It takes you away for a little while. Like only good art does.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent
