This issue has been the best of the 'Fall of Gilead' run thus far.  Three significant deaths occur with Cort, Aileen's father and longstanding trainer of the gunslingers, Cuthberts father Robert, and Vannay.  This book reeks of dismal feelings and ominous warnings of terrible and wicked things headed for Gilead.  Along with Martin Broadcloaks army marching towards Gilead, his agents are starting to appear at different places as close as the woods outside of the city.  This has a similar feeling to when the Witch King of Angmar was marching with his army to the Pelennor Fields for the next to last battle for Middle-Earth. 

Although I've found Isanove's art to be disagreeable with this arc, his care with each character came out in this issue.  Peter David's writing has been consistently good with every arc in this series.  It is easy to see that he's deeply devoted to conveying this story in a way that stays true to King's vision for his books.
