It usually annoys me when there’s a two-part story spanning a title that I’m reading and a title that I’m not, but this seems like a smart way to go about it. The first two pages deliver on two different cliffhangers: One from Daredevil #7, where Jack Murdock’s grave is dug up, and one from Amazing Spider-Man #677, where the Black Cat has Spidey and Daredevil cornered on some caper involving a missing holo-projector. Recap captions do the rest; we’re officially Caught Up, and can proceed to the real business of this issue: Building up explosive sexual chemistry between Daredevil and Black Cat. This is a solid crime thriller, a solid double-cross story, but more than anything, it’s an issue where Daredevil cock-blocks Spider-Man. Masterfully, I might add, through some of the snappiest come-on dialogue this side of Entrapment. I miss Paolo Rivera’s art, but Kano’s style and action sensibility works well for this story.
