I’m shocked that no one has reviewed Cyberforce No. 1. It was a fantastic introduction of these characters to new readers. I was not a fan of prior incarnations of Cyberforce. This new incarnation of the Cyberforce world is rich with possibility and beautifully illustrated by Khoi Pham and Sai Regla. Matt Hawkins, the writer of Think Tank, teamed with Image co-founder, Marc Silvestri, to pen an exciting book that most importantly was free. The decision by Top Cow and retailers to provide this book to customers for free, may revolutionize the way new titles are introduced to fans. Even more shockingly, the remainder of the first arc will also be free to customers. This is a revolutionary move by Top Cow and a fantastic way to encourage readers who exclusively read books generated by the big two to pick up independent titles. If you are one of those buyers, please take the opportunity to read this arc and I am confident that you will be pleasantly surprised. Some of the best work in the industry is being done by Image (e.g., Walking Dead, Saga, Manhattan Projects, Fatale, Revival, Think Tank, Invincible, Luther Strode, Bedlam, Chew, etc.). Cyber Force was really good, but I have a feeling it is just going to get better. This is passion project for Mark Silvestri and Matt Hawkins is one of my favorite writers in the business. I see big things in Hawkins future. I would also encourage you to pick up Hawkins other book, Think Tank, if you enjoyed this issue. Think Tank is one of my favorite comics.

  1. You work for Top Cow don’t you?

    • That’s an odd accusation, I think it’s pretty clear that isn’t the case. Plus this reviewer gave even bigger 5/5 reviews to other books like Batman. Though this review could’ve talked more about the content of the book, though agreed it’s awesome that it’s free.

I also loved this issue, very solid stuff, intriguing, covered a lot and I look forward to seeing where it’s all going.

    • Haha, I was only joking around. This review just felt more like a sales pitch than an actual review of the issue.
