I really dig this book, and recommend everybody interested hops on board. That the first five issues are free is icing on the cake.

I had read a couple issues of Cyber Force way back but forgotten them, and I’ve seen them in cameos from other Image books, but was largely unfamiliar with the title. This new reboot is very cool stuff that is introducing it all in a fast paced and intriguing way.

It stars Velocity, the teen girl on the run who has been enhanced to run fast. She’s got spunk and some attitude that make her an entertaining heroine to root for. This issue introduces her well, along with others such as Ripclaw, rebels outside of a fascist corporate owned system. Pretty much this story doesn’t hold our hand, it drops us in the middle of the action and fills in the details of the world along the way. After one issue, there are many questions to be answered, and it’s working because I’m interested and intrigued to see where it all goes.

The art is great, first I’ve seen from Khoa Pham, with other great talents helping out there as well. And I’m liking the writing style of the Hawkins and Silvestri partnership. I dig the narration of this issue taking place in the future, and how the events unfold in the issue, it’s got it’s own unique flavor.

Long story short, if you like rebellion and rooting for likable cool characters, with flair and unexpected turns, this is a book to hop on.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent
