I was cautiously optimistic about this series after the first issue.  It was nice and I could see the spark of something really great there.  Thankfully this issue completley delivered on all that promise.

The story here is simple but well done.  The jokes also come pretty quickly throughout the whole book and I gotta say that no one does humor as well as Powell, as if “The Goon” was evidence of that enough already.  Lula the Bearded Girl and her perfectly waxed mustache get me every time as I get thoughts of her and V getting together and trading grooming tips.

The art here is also top-notch and I makes me want to see some Goon in black and white.  A particular page that stands out is the one involving an elephant in distress.

The first issue may be a bit hard to find at this point but I would definitely suggest getting this in trade once it comes out.
