It seems like it’s been several months since I read the previous issue of this comic.  I don’t offer that as criticism of Eric Powell, but rather as an excuse for not remembering this comic as anything more than a quirky story with pretty Eric Powell Art.  I certainly don’t remember it being a satricial commentary on the American government, legal system, media, and corporate pharmaceutical industry, but that’s clearly what it is.  The art is gorgeous, and the satire is…while subtler than, say, Groo…pretty cards on the table.  I do admire Powell’s ability to be blatant without seeming preachy.  I had a lot of fun with this story, and am intrigued to see where it goes next.
