Hi. Did you know Chew is the best book in comics right now? It is. There isn't anything coming out write now with as many ideas per issue as Chew and Rob Guillory is rapidly becoming my favorite artist working today. In this issue we find Tony Chu still pursuing the mystery surrounding the gallsaberry, the strange alien fruit that tastes just like the chicken. His masticating manner of investigation leads him to a military compound on the island run by Governor Haupai where chefs like Chow Chu and cibolocutor Fatanyeros (he communicates solely through his food) are being imprisoned and forced to create gourmet dishes around the gallsaberry. We also find that food critic Miss Mintz from a previous story arc is being held captive here, too. Tony Chu breaks into the compound, breaking out hic brother Chow Chu and Miss Mintz, and we're left wondering what's going to happen as he heads back into the compound to rescue Fatanyeros before the issue closes on the most bizarre final page I can ever remember reading. There is more style packed into each page of this issue than any review could hope to articulate. just go read it for yourself.
