This is a strange issue.

Well that’s kinda obvious isn’t it? ALL of the issues of Chew has been pretty damn strange. But this issue in particular was very weird. So much is going on and it is a little hard to wrap your head around it. Probably doesn’t help that this series, on occasion, will take a while to come out so if you’re a bit confused on what is going on…A re-read of the previous issue might help you out.

Like a lot of great series, this issue is still entertaining and it’s hard to really talk about. A lot of laughs to be had and some absolutely gorgeous artwork by Rob Guillory. It’s amazing to think one man can do all of this by himself and yet somehow he can. He can put all of this detail, the jokes, and hidden jokes in a single panel all by himself. I bet most artists could take even longer to do this series if they had to put this much work in a single issue.

So yeah, like Sweet Tooth for a long time, it really is hard to review this comic. It’s an amazing read every single issue and it’s hard to find more things to talk about it. But know this: John Layman and Rob Guillory give yet another A effort in this issue and it is just as fun to read as the first issue. A very rare commodity in the comic industry, there is just nothing else like Chew on the stands right now.
