Slut woman by Winick had a few good points that are all due to March’s work, not for Winick. Yes March loves to draw big tits, and usually with them popp’n out of a costume, but he really is a skilled draftsman. He takes Winick’s trashy script and elevates it. Look at the final panel on page one with the cats, I let out a laugh seeing them crammed in the case. Same with that last shot on page 2. An ass shot, but the humor with the cats works. And that close up of her with that cat around her neck, stunning. When you see more and more comic book artists use the same 2 or 3 expression (looking at you Rocafort) this is refreshing, I don’t think anyone but March would add that touch with Slut woman’s lips, or how her eyes can add another layer of subtext that Winick’s paper thin dialogue can carry. Look at the last panel on pg 17.

Now, Slut woman as written by Winick is a dumb woman who gets herself into trouble. She is really far removed from Brubaker’s run where with his interpretation of Selina was one intelligence, she’d never have thugs torch/blow up her apartment or even find it in the first place, she’d never get caught unprepared or end up poor looking for crappy jobs. She was smart and had sex appeal without overtly having it on displayed. Winick turned her from Catwoman to Slut woman.

He really is a hack writer, he can give any excuse he wants but this whole issue was designed to excite little boys, or middle age men living in basements, and to shock. He wrote this to get attention. He got it, now there are less tricks in his bag.
