Damnit, another Loeb story…Of all the money I’ve wasted these last few years on this guy I should have every right to go to Marvel studios and….

Hey….this isnt so bad…I mean I know Loeb/Sale books are fantastic, but I thought with Loeb’s track record recently…this book was gonna destroy a modern classic team-up.

Yes! Finally after all these years, I am happy about a Jeph Loeb book! (Cue fireworks and streamers) What Loeb does well is not action, or gritty diaolouge….He writes good; mysteries, thrillers, and semi-depressing stories. This was a fantastic look at the life of an early Bucky and makes us truely know why Cap was such a big figure during the wars.

Sales art, no matter how old he gets, is still 100% fantastic and he never loses a step. Sale somehow brings the art of nostalga in his books, and the colors match beautifully with the story.

It’s only a 0 issue, and the main story is still not out yet. But if this prelude is anything to judge on the main series. We might finally see a decent Captain America story after his death, and a great Loeb story after all these years.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent

  1. I’m glad that people are liking this book, but what did you mean by "we might finally see a decent Captain America Story after his death"?  Did you mean a Steve Rogers’ story or do you really not like the current story going on in Brubaker’s Captain America?  Just curious, not looking for a flame war.

  2. I just ment that any Steve Roger stories after his death were bad. Brubaker’s run is just other worldly and I would never complain on that.

Just stuff like Loeb’s wake stuff, Wolverine Origins: Our War, Young Avengers #1, and anything else with a ‘tribute’ to Rogers….just medicore or god awful.
