I loved this issue.
I thought the whole three issue arc did a great job conveying the feeling of fear. The story in this issue really finished that arc well. The main point of this tie in, and most of the Fear Itself tie ins, is that these are people that don't usually let fear affect them. In this comic though, we see Peter Parker fighting someone that he knows for a fact that he cannot beat, to protect the innocent. The fight between Spider-man and Thing takes place in a hospital, and we see Spider-man overcome his fear by embracing it and fighting Ben Grimm despite his fear. Ok, this kind of story line always gets me, when the hero is sure he will die, and yet he fights anyway, that is why they are our heroes right? I find the story awesome, and this is the best tie in to the Fear Itself event out there, in my opinion. I think they convey the feelings and I feel for the individuals introduced in this series.
That said, it is a tie in, and thus, the whole story has little to do with the actual events of Fear Itself. But it is the one tie in that has done it's job best.
The art is great. My opinion about the art is that it shouldn't be so great or bad that it distracts you from the story. The art should enhance the story without pulling you out of the story and making you constantly realize the fact that you are reading a comic book, and this art does that, very well. It enhances the fear, and the dark story line that is happening on each page.
My opinion, BUY IT!!! If you buy only one tie in to the Fear Itself event, this should be it.
Please comment if you have constructive criticism!! I will not be offended by what you say!! :)
