I'll be up front here, I don't care about Fray and I don't care about her world. I never read the comic back when it was being published so when Buffy leapt forward in time to confront the future slayer (I think?) I was not particularly moved.
Which should not be a problem since I should have been able to take this future as a new world that Buffy jumped into and rolled with it. However when Buffy is largely a passive player in this last chapter, with Fray left to decide whether to kill her to save her timeline or not, I just was not interested. Saving Fray's timeline to me isn't as important as getting Buffy back home safe, and the fact that it kind of looks like a shitty future (flying cars aside), it was hardly a moral dilemma for me as a reader.
Having Future Dark Willow as the big bad in the arc also didn't move me, since it's so far in the future that it's unlikely we'll ever see the ramifications of that in the book, plus it's a path we've been done before and so it's sort of worn itself out.
That's not to say that there isn't some good stuff going on. Buffy's final fight with Future Dark Willow was enjoyably brief, and Willow/Xander are perhaps the best thing about this book right now. I wasn't even clear where Willow/Xander were, it's been awhile since we've seen the book, but they just bring me joy anytime they show up.
Art: 3 - Good
I dunno, Buffy has to decide to kill future-Willow as well. So she’s not totally passive.
Also, Fray is awesome.
