Brightest Day continues its pedigree of quality.  This issue picks up where the last one left off with Aquaman’s wrist bleeding and Black Manta about to deal the deathblow.  From there, the action never lets up, and it is good.  If there’s anything that this book proves, it’s that I want an amazing Aquaman book, and I want it now.  I’ve slowly developed an affinity for the character, and he is in desperate need of a solid reboot or series.  Much like the scene in the JMS Brave and Bold the scene where Aquaman calls his army is epic, and I don’t think that will ever get old.  Of course, at the end of the story, Aquaman’s reunion with Mera is heartfelt, and he befalls the same fate as the Hawks.  I don’t think any of this is permanent, and hopefully, it will manifest itself in some pretty amazing stuff.  Overall, this was a great issue.
