I picked up Brightest Day #14 thinking it would be the best issue yet after looking at the cover. What a ruse that was!! I can't say it's a total cash grab because Batman does make an appearance, but this issue has so much more to do with Deadman, AKA Boston Brand, then anybody else here.
Basically, Deadman tries to pawn the white lantern ring off on Bruce Wayne, but after a few mind changing flashbacks, comes back to the real world, and decides he is the guy who should seek out the chosen one after all. Then he sticks his tongue in Dove's mouth and that's about it. Kiss your three dollars goodbye.
There is a preview for Detective #871 in the back though, so it's not a TOTAL waste. I don't know how much more BD I'm gonna keep reading. It gets hot, then cold, then more cold, then hot, then more cold. I just can't keep up anymore.
