And so Geoff Johns continues to touch a book and turn it to gold (in this case that is a really bad pun with the title charcrcter, apologies).

When I picked up this book back with issue 1 I was thoroughly entertained, and 7 issues later this is still the case. With Johns being the ever so talented man he is, the development of side characters such as Rip Hunter or Daniel Carter add as a great addition to the buddy team of Booster Gold and Ted Kord’s Blue Beetle. While I enjoyed the book more with Booster Gold flying solo (and yes I love Ted Kord as much as the next DC fan), Johns works the story and partnership of the two characters really well and with the last page I cannot wait to see what happens in issue 9.

Jurgens continues his art and I think it may be some of the best I have seen from him in a while, altough something makes me feel that it could somehow be better. Some Panels make me think its brilliant while others make me a little dissapointed. But that is clouded by the magnificent writing (Yes I know I am praising Geoff Johns but if D.C lost him they would loose their ongoing battle against Marvel).

Overall the book was a good romp trough a possible history thread of the DC universe, if you wanted it could be compared to Marvels what if… line, or the 90’s drama Quantum Leap. I would like to see Booster join the DC universe again, maybe pop up in Final Crisis, but at the moment I am enjoying this book and I hope it stays that way.
