After a slightly lacklustre first issue, this is a bit more like the previous series of Blue Beetle. Having adopted the Beetle armour, Jaime is left to beat the bad guys and rescue his friend in more straightforwardly superheroic story than the previous issue, where the focus was all over the shop. I was a little disturbed to see that - whilst Jaime was strong enough to over-ride the armour's desire to kill the bad guys - he seemed to have few qualms about goring them with his foot-long talons! High-schoolers, these days, huh?! The art is adequate but not outstanding. This book's future on my pull list was in the balance after issue 1, but there was enough here for me to stick with it for the first arc or two at least.
