Story was not as lean and mean as previously. Perhaps they know they’re cancelled. Not bad at all, just didn’t click as much as previous.

I’m not sure how cool it is to bring back SkyWitness (dead Mayan) from 0 issue. We’ll see.

Story: 3 - Good
Art: 4 - Very Good

  1. I love this series, what a shame :/

    • I agree it is a shame I think the stories have been quite enjoyable. I was also make the case that people didn’t like the changes to Jaime character that Tony was making(despite them probably being small in nature), only have BB to start the book out was a detractor, and most importantly Not having Ted in the book. I couldn’t even get my friends to try the book even though they are big BB fans and read the previous series. 🙁 i’m going to miss this book.

    • I should also ask if your experience has been similar?

  2. I too have heard the “If it’s not Ted Kord, I’m not reading it.”

Such a shame. I’m not sure DC editorial could have predicted that attitude. Bedard did a great job writing this series, 90% of the time. The one real misstep being the cross=over with GL New Guardians, which stunk.

Who knows, maybe TEd Kord will resurface?

  3. They should have given Ted Kord the Blue Beetle scarab power. They missed a golden opportunity. Lovable loserish guy gets serious power upgrade. Who wouldn’t want to read that?

    • There are plenty of those kind of superheroes. Not plenty of young Latino superheroes.

    • True, Conor. I think DC was trying to create some diversity…only to end up shafting that same diversity. I mean, where the F are people of “color” in comics?

Seems like anytime an African american character or latino character gets a spotlight, they get C team treatment. (exceptiing Miles Morales).
