“You know what makes eveything better?!”
“GORILLAS!!”

This is what Black Lantern Bart Allen says to taunt Blue Lantern Barry Allen just as Black Lantern Solovar appears to join the fight between Flashes Barry, Wally and Bart, and this was the funniest moment in all of comics for me this week.  There is something so inherently funny about the word ‘gorilla’ that it possesses the power to immediately transforms any scene from one of high action or drama into comedy gold.  This word is particularly deadly when wielded by Geoff Johns.

I’m not terribly informed about the Flash family aside from what I’m reading in this book and Flash: Rebirth, but I’m still completely hooked by this move to turn Barry Allen into a Blue Lantern.  There is something so energizing about seeing someone like Barry, who is characteristically always rushing to do the impossible, saying with a cheerful confidence “All will be well.” Despite the cliffhanger moment Johns leaves us with for Barry, Wally and Walker towards the end of this issue, I’m not worried.  Barry has this locked up.  All will be well.
