I have to start this review with the preface that I love the Blackest Night mini series and mot of the spin offs , with the exception of the Booster Gold stuff . That being said this issue while being good was not as good as the ast issues . The art is great although I would have loved to see Doug Mahnke on it , but Ivan Reis has done alot better than I expected . He has taken a huge story and done some very cool things with it artwise . Although I am at a loss to explain how the Atom's mask styed on his head for the last several issue , being torn apart like it was . But that is a small gripe and I have enjoyed his work otherwise . His redition of the rainbow squad was perfect . Should they do more Tales of the Lantern Corps , I would love to see his work on that .

  The story in this issue felt rushed , maybe its just me but it did'nt feel as natural as the other issues did . That could be that there is so much anticipation for this series and it just could'nt measure up . Geoff Johns has taken on a Herculean task and thus far has done amazingly well but this issue just was'nt as good as the others . Yet I liked it , basically its like saying that this caviar is not as good as the caviar you had last week .  Hell its still caviar , and its better than alot of the stories being printed today . The last couple of pages made the disappointment go away , the creation of the Rainbow Corps , as many are calling it , put me into full on nerdgasm . Barry Allen getting the Blue Lantern ring , Wonder Woman the Purple ring , Mera the Red ring of rage , Scarecrow the yellow , and my personal favorite Ray Palmer getting the indigo ring of compassion , was a stroke of genius . Monly gripe is that they will only have it for 24 hours , that disappointed me . Hey Geoff maybe you could give it to Ray permanetly , after all there is another Atom strolling around the DC universe is'nt there .

  To sum up this was a great issue ...just not as great as the past 5 issues . I am not worried though because as the Blue Lantern Barry Allen says "All will be well" .
