This was the best issue since the first issue.  However it will not be my pick of the week as it came out last week.  (Yes, I'm one of those people).  This particular issue had a split feeling.  Part of it was a really missed oportunity.  As with the last issue, black rings had taken over all of the resurrected characters save for Hal and Barry.  Now how they escaped it was very smart and sounds like a great Flash moment, still it feels too easy.  Perhaps Johns is realizing that he should have covered this over the course of 12 issues or had used the other GL books to tell the main plot.  What I thought was most interesting was the role of Ganthet in this issue.  He should be the only Guardian.   The decision by Johns to give more rings to established DC characters was very good.  I am almost surprised that Scarecrow was not originally a member of the Sinestro Corp.  His selection makes the most sense than others.  Lex Luthor being an Orange Lantern is pure genius.  What seems out of place was the decision to give Wonder Woman a Star Saphire ring.  Lois Lane, Iris Allen, Catwoman, Oracle, even Ma Kent, might have been better choices.  Mera being a Red Lantern was interesting also.  It also seems fitting that John's would have Ray Allen get the Indigo ring as this event has been more centered on him than Hal.  Barry's choice of being a Blue lantern seems to be a Tip of the Hat to the Silver Age itself.  The art is good, but strangely it never stands out.  I do give Ivan Reis credit for the page with the new Lanterns.
