I really want Birds of Prey to be better, but it’s not been on the best run lately. Good characters to work with, but the plot either seems glacial, or too rushed. This issue kind of blasted through the motions, with a lot of panels spent on Katana being attacked, and then fewer panels being spent on the actual plot of the issue.

So many things to get in to:
That tortured Japanese Dagger Gang member’s torture sounded brutal at first but then looked like one cut underneath each eye, you’d imagine it would take more to get the information out of him. Did Condor look like a bird?! It’s not so much a bird costume as it was a costume with wings. Was the last panel the best thing to leave it on? It looked a bit anticlimactic, and felt like it.

I liked the whole first arc (it went on for a couple of issues too long, but it was really solid), and then since Jesus Saiz/Javier Pina went off the book, there has been little consistency when it comes to quality. Hopefully this arc featuring Condor can pull it back, because Birds of Prey can be pretty kick ass when everything clicks.
