Been a BOP fan since the book first came out, though I cared very little for Simone's last run. It missed something, and I stopped after a few issues. But I'm guessing that the plot line a Canary being framed for murder is still dangling given this issue. I liked this book, but don't think it'll be something that I'll read next month. Not that it sucks, but times are tight and I need to limit what I buy. There is so much to recommend, the depiction of Black Canary is spot on, she is the Canary we all know and love, the extremely clean and clear way the action scenes were handled (unlike Red Hood), Babs! Nice nod to give her a cameo. Starling is not a character I know, but I felt I did know her after reading this first issue, great sense of partnership between her and Canary. Strong storytelling in art and writing, subtle story turns with the death of Mr. Keen and Canary's death kiss. Really, now the nit picks. The car crashing through a stonewall without any sense of damage, then crashes through a wooden wall with out any damage as well. Starling shooting her opponents in a fight. If Canary is looking to clear her name of a false murder charge should she align herself with someone who shoots people? Unsure on that, seems a slip in logic there. How do you explain that if the authorities after her bring that up. Hmmm, should I continue reading this? I want to, maybe one more issue and I'll see.
