If this issue is any indication then Batman: TDK might be a worthwhile comic. That’s a good thing as you can never have too much good Batman and David Finch was meant to draw comics like this. While wildly deviating from the cover and the solicitation, this issue provides perspective into the Talons and humanizes one in a very cool way. The plot is derived from Batman #9 but you don’t have to have read it in order to get what’s happening here. While I got the comic expecting and looking forward to seeing Tim Drake, the actual story was totally enough for me. Winick is only around for one issue until Greg Hurwitz takes over next month and I really hope that this issue indicates a new direction for this title.
