Oh Bruce you and your love for unconventional women. I think this is turning out to be an awesome mini-series. Each issue explores and strips Batman down to his core while being a crazy time travelin' story!

" I'm sorry Annie"

I fell for her as quickly as I fell for Catwoman (Julie Newmar) and I could definitely relate to her on the whole trying to keep Batman by her side forever. Another tragic end to a relationship for Bruce. I mean they really loved each other. I want to know more about this character so hopefully she comes up again. If the theme of last issue was family/legacy the theme of this issue is love/tragedy . Batman may be a tough guy but Bruce is soft, not being able to save Annie really hurt him. He is Batman to deal with what a sensitive guy he is lol. There is no Batman without tragedy/love.

For those of you confused or not convinced there is a story check out some annotations or talk about it with other people its fun. I am always a little confused in time travel stories so I suspend my disbelief that it makes sense. In this case I really understood it and thought it cleverly written. This is what I understood:

So at the end of their timeline exists the vanishing point where information will be stored in a black whole to form a cosmic message in a bottle. Superman and crew arrive to find Batman in the timeline but its extremely hard and what were they thinking? It explains the timeline of earth Zero as a line where all the possibilities lie but time moves in different directions from the line creating all these strings reaching out from the line that exist side by side to different universes. So we are the universe that exists perpendicular to this mighty universe in Cube time which sees Universe Zero as flat. If Batman makes it back to his own time then Universe Zero will cease to exist and absolutely nothing can stop its destruction. I assume this happens near the end of both mini-series, Batman says we will just have to trust him but Superman and Crew are most definitely not convinced. Another Crisis! no wonder Superman looks all emo, he just can't catch a break nowadays.

The art had its amazing moments. I think it fits with the story. I know its not what we are used to in Super hero comics but this part of the story is a bit out there so shouldn't the art be out there too? I definitely like its unique qualities.

Grant Morrison’s Batman is wonderful. I agree with almost anything he says/does. If you ever wanted to know what Batman would do/say in different times, so you can be like hell yeah you tell’em Bruce, then read this. He makes him the ultimate Human Being but he is totally relatable to the “cube” world (us). He is us if we were the best we could be without loosing that human factor that makes us so emotional/vulnerable. He is a giant question mark at the same time. Everything that made Batman who he is comes from a very human experience. Technically wouldn’t that mean there is a Batman in all of us? FIGHT THE POWER, WE GOT TO FIGHT THE POWERS THAT BE!!! Sorry I have been listening to Public Enemy again J
