Better than expected, by far. I am really glad I made the last minute decision to pick this one up. The story, after one issue,  is a solid Paul Dini Batman story and the art will grow on you by the end. And if you played the game, you loved it and it will definitely add to the enjoyment of the issue. The first game was awesome. If you have not played the game, my best advice to you is that you promptly remove your thumb from your butt and/or hang your head in shame. I don’t care if you are into video games or not. Also, you would still enjoy the book if you haven’t played the game and it might force your hand.

That being said, this is more than a gimmick and is a good comic. As much as I love Detective and Batman Inc. it was fun to just read a Bruce Wayne as Batman story that was not hampered by the current storylines. I hope more people pick it up and discuss it on here. Even better, this mini series could bring some non-comic readers into the fold.

I gave the book a 4 for story and for art, but a 5 overall. If you played the first game and plan on playing the second you automatically give it a plus one due to said awesomeness. Maybe that doesn’t make sense to you and maybe I couldn’t care less.

Check it out!

  1. The first game so so amazing it hurt! Suck it wasn’t hard enough… 🙁 Anyways, I’m quite eager to read my copy of this, hopefully it WILL bring non-comic readers to the business afterwards!
