I had reservations about this title. The idea of bridging two video games, the sensational Arkham Asylum and the upcoming highly anticipated Arkham City, sounded like a cheesy money-making ploy. But I was convinced to give it a try after seeing Paul Dini was writing it and thumbing through Carlos D’anda’s art.

This first first issue sets up a story ripe with potential. Not only does it connect the two games but it does so with some pretty strong material. While the Arkham City concept is a big stretch, there is plenty of intrigue and mystery and the book never feels like a second rate title.

Solid story combined with nice artwork does exactly what mini-series’ need to do: leave the audience ready for the next issue. I’m certainly ready.
