(NIGHT OF THE OWLS NOTE: If you’re reading all the tie-ins this week, this is more or less chronologically first, followed by BATGIRL and BATMAN.)

I haven’t been reading BATMAN AND ROBIN and have very little experience with Damien as a character – I’ve always been much more of a Tim Drake fan myself. And Damien’s centrality to this story, handling a Talon while Bruce is tied up with the assault on the manor, doesn’t necessarily do it many favors. I’m just not a fan.

As an entry into the Night of the Owls, this issue, like BATWING last week, is entertaining enough but doesn’t feel critical to the larger story, nor does it do anything special for BATMAN AND ROBIN’s plot that I can tell. But they can’t all. It’s not a bad issue, but in comparison to some of the other “Night” issues, it’s pretty forgettable.

Story: 3 - Good
