I have been having such a blast with Snyder and Capullo’s Batman, that I had to give my first review ever. First off, I have to say that I am in Comic Heaven with this great series and have been enjoying Snyder’s run since Detective. Having said that, I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this issue, and while the action is not in the forefront of this issue like it has been in the last few issues, it’s still a great read.

I love the nods that Snyder gives to how deep the Court of Owls have influenced Gotham, and to some extent, Bruce’s life as well. Using a scene made famous from Miller’s “Year One” arc was just fantastic. I simply have to applaud Snyder for that scene.

As for Capullo’s art….simply superb. I had never heard of Capullo prior to this series and was upset when Jock or Francavilla weren’t assigned to this series at the start of the relaunch. But I have to say that I am more than pleased with Capullo’s art and hope he and Snyder can continue to work on this series together for a really long time.

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 5 - Excellent

  1. My current favorite title! Greg Capullo’s art is a perfect fit, great story as well.

  2. Great review! I just finished the book and came online to write my own review, but all I need to say now is “ditto.”
