It’s easy to forget that Batman is just a man sometimes, with his supreme physique and brazen intellect. Yet in Batman #5 Scott Snyder reminds us that Bruce is very much mortal. The Court of Owls story arc has been a fresh and exciting ride so far, and with the fifth issue we’re still not let off for a breather. This is probably the heaviest and most focused issue so far as we join Bruce in an agonizing trial that gives us further insight into the awesome power of this menacing group of villains. It seems evident that things will have to ramp up from here, and the news of cross-overs and backup stories has me more Bat-cited than I’ve been in a while.
