Well, that just happened. I didn't know until checking out reactions after reading the issue that Bruce Wayne having a long-lost brother is canon, although Snyder changed several details in the chronology. But this issue is packed with amazing plot points and character moments. The ability of Snyder to totally upend Bruce Wayne's world while also maintaining the organic nature of the storyline is nothing short of amazing. The way the reveal is drawn out from the dead Owls in their lair, to the references to Henri Ducard and finally to Alfred talking over the case with Bruce were all great ways of amping up the tension. I had myself convinced the evil mastermind of the Court of the Owls was all of these characters at one point in the issue and that's a credit to amazing writing. I am very excited as to where this storyline goes. Capullo's art is again top shelf. His Batman is unshaven and haggard but brooding and smooth. It's a dichotomy between the socialite Bruce Wayne and the hard edged dark Batman that is told so well with his pencils. The coloring is also great as there are tons of shadows, especially in the final pages. The backup is also great and I liked seeing Martha Wayne fleshed out as a character. She's too often portrayed as just the rich guy's wife but here she's an advocate with causes of her own. Overall, very well done.
